Jyoti Kalash Chalake is a song which created waves in 1961 when the movie Bhabi ki Chudiyan released. This song was a part of the movie, yet has been one of the most popular semi classical songs till date. The song is based on Raga Bhupali, sung by Lata Mangeshkar, composed by Sudhir Phadke and written by Pt. Narendra Sharma.

Course Format


4 instructor led classes, each session is 45 minutes. The student has the option to take add on classes

Objectives

To understand the meaning of the song

To develop awareness about the Raga/Swaras which the song is based on and the Swara mapping

To learn the melody of the song

To recite the Theka of Taal Keherva and fit the song in Taal structure

 To improvise with Aalap wherever it is relevant

 

 

The student needs to have completed HV105 OR needs to have practiced Swaras, Alankars and learnt classical music for at least 2 years
